Purification – rituals, balance, and the energy of the land
The Smudge fans and sage collection brings together spiritual objects from Indigenous traditions, used to restore balance, release heavy energies, and harmonize places as well as spirits. Purification is a sacred act, at the heart of ceremonial practices, connecting humans, the land, and the spiritual world.
My name is Dave Verreault-Thisselmagan, an Ilnu artisan from Quebec. Each piece in this collection is handcrafted with respect for ancestral teachings, nature, and the intention accompanying the ritual.
My Artist's Signature – Creative Process
Each smudge fan I create is assembled by hand according to a respectful and conscious artistic process. This is my signature. This is what makes each piece imbued with presence and intention.
Feathers are carefully selected for their balance, movement, and symbolism. They are assembled with natural materials such as moose hide, genuine fur, and elements from the land.
The handle is crafted from natural moose hide, chosen with care to ensure comfort and consistency with the overall work.
Assembly is done slowly, in a spirit of respect for the materials and the gesture it accompanies.
Each smudge fan is a unique piece, designed to be used in a respectful and conscious setting.
