Collection: Spiritual Rattles – Sound, Intention and Ritual Presence

Some objects are meant to be seen.
Others are meant to be felt.

Spiritual rattles belong to the second.

They are not decorative pieces. They are tools of presence. Objects created to be used, to be held, and to move with intention.

Each rattle in this collection is handcrafted by Ilnu artisan Dave Verreault-Thisselmagan, using carefully selected natural materials. Every piece carries its own sound, its own balance, and its own presence.

When activated, the rattle does more than produce a sound. It creates a vibration that fills the space. It marks rhythm. It supports focus. It shifts the atmosphere.

Rooted in Indigenous traditions, rattles have long been used to open a circle, accompany songs, guide movement, or mark important transitions. Their role is simple, but powerful: to support the gesture and hold the intention.

You don’t just use a rattle. You engage with it.

Each piece begins with the selection of driftwood, gathered by hand along the shores of the Piekuakami or the Ashapmushuan River. These places are deeply connected to the artisan’s history and cultural roots.

The wood is then shaped and wrapped with 100% genuine moose hide, known for its durability, flexibility, and natural connection to the animal.

The head of the rattle is crafted from deer hide, a deliberate choice that creates a warm, soft, and grounded sound. It resonates naturally — never harsh, never artificial.

Some pieces incorporate real animal fur, adding depth and symbolic presence. This is not decorative. It is intentional.

Every rattle is designed to feel balanced in the hand. Natural. Fluid. Easy to move with.

No two rattles sound exactly the same. No two feel the same.

This is what makes each piece personal.

Whether used in personal rituals, moments of reflection, transitions, or simply to reconnect with a slower rhythm, these rattles become part of the experience.

They are not meant to sit on a shelf.

They move with you.

And once a piece finds the right hands… it doesn’t come back.
