Cultural Partnerships and Workshops

Quick summary

Through my work and collaborations, I showcase my Indigenous Innu craftsmanship and my commitment to cultural transmission. Each project—whether it's a drum, a workshop, or a community mural—is an opportunity to share my culture and build meaningful connections with the people and organizations who place their trust in me.

Indigenous cultural workshop led by Dave Verreault-Thisselmagan and Vicky Villeneuve, sharing the creation of talking sticks and ritual objects

A creative and cultural transmission workshop led with the participants.

Innu craftsman Dave Verreault-Thisselmagan , accompanied by his partner Vicky Villeneuve , offers partnerships and cultural workshops focused on promoting Indigenous cultures and intercultural understanding.

Each project is conceived as an encounter: between people, stories, symbols and knowledge that span generations.

Our skills

Intercultural relations
Drawing on our experience in mediation and raising awareness of Indigenous realities, we support organizations that wish to integrate a respectful Indigenous perspective into their activities, spaces, or projects.

Authentic Indigenous Crafts
The workshops allow participants to create meaningful objects such as dreamcatchers, talking sticks, drums, or other symbolic works. Each creation becomes a medium for dialogue, memory, and meaning.

Workshop objectives and partnerships

  1. To promote and transmit indigenous cultures
To provide spaces where Indigenous knowledge, stories and practices can be shared respectfully, in accessible language.
  2. Promoting intercultural exchange
Create moments where Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants can ask questions, exchange ideas, and build lasting relationships.
  3. Supporting reconciliation efforts
Supporting organizations, schools, businesses and communities that wish to make a concrete commitment to the recognition of Indigenous peoples and their contemporary realities.

For which environments?

Our workshops and partnerships are aimed in particular at:

  • to primary and secondary schools
  • to CEGEPs, universities and training centres
  • to seniors' homes and residences
  • to community and cultural organizations
  • to companies and public or private institutions

The content is always adapted to the context, the age of the participants and the objectives of the environment.

Examples of workshops offered

  • Talking stick workshop
Introduction to the meaning of the talking stick, creation of a personalized stick, explanation of the symbols and a moment of sharing.
  • Dreamcatcher workshop
Origin and meanings, choice of materials, sensor assembly and reflection on personal intention.
  • Drum workshop
Role of the drum in indigenous cultures, symbolism, demonstration and exchange with the group.
  • Thematic meetings and discussions
Awareness sessions on indigenous realities, stereotypes, reconciliation and possible bridges between peoples.

Depending on your needs, several activities can be combined in the same project.

Projects to indigenize spaces

Beyond the workshops, we also support projects to indigenize living environments, for example:

  • integration of artworks into common areas
  • creation of symbolic elements for entrances, meeting rooms or places of reflection
  • reflection on spaces inspired by indigenous cultures to promote dialogue, calm and respect

These projects are always developed in collaboration with the team on site and, when possible, with people who frequent the community.

Collaborative approach

Each request is reviewed individually. Together, we take the time to:

  • understand your reality and your goals
  • propose a suitable format (one-off workshop, series of workshops, special project)
  • specify the logistical and budgetary aspects
  • define the meaning of the project for your participants
