The Mist Eagle is an ancient messenger from the sky who carries the voices of spirits. He descends to humans when their thoughts are scattered and their vision is clouded, guiding them towards truth and inner clarity.
The ancient breath that carried the voices
Long before the mountains took their final form, the sky was populated by wandering spirits who wove the wind with their songs. Among them lived a majestic being whom the ancients called the Eagle of the Mists. Its plumage seemed to capture the starlight, and its wings had the power to move the sails of the world.
He did not hunt, nor did he reign over any territory. Rather, he preserved the memory of voices carried from the heights. The ancients said that he heard every forgotten whisper, every lost prayer, every thought seeking a path to ascend to heaven.
The Descent into Humans
The Mist Eagle rarely descended to earth.
He only came there when humans lost the clarity of their vision.
He appeared at dusk, when the light hesitated between staying and disappearing. His arrival was always heralded by a strange breath. A gentle breeze, yet carrying a deep vibration.
That breath was the first sign that something invisible had just opened.
When a human was too overcome by confusion, the Mist Eagle would approach silently. It did not speak, but beat its wings to disperse dark thoughts like sweeping dust from ancient soil. Anyone fortunate enough to witness it said they felt a sudden peace, as if their mind had finally remembered how to breathe.
The Journey Above the Veil
When the human was strong enough, the Mist Eagle would invite him to follow.
Not by walking, but by letting one's mind soar.
The ancients described this journey as a passage between two breaths. There, the mist would part to reveal landscapes known only to spirits:
paths of stars, rivers of light, mountains made of memories and visions.
There, the Eagle showed the traveler what his earthly eyes could not perceive:
the truth behind his doubts, the road behind his fears, the direction hidden beneath his hesitations.
Back to the land
At the end of the journey, the Eagle of the Mists brought the traveler's spirit back to the visible world. The breath of the sky gently fell again, like a blanket of pure air placed on the shoulders.
Then the Eagle raised its eyes to the stars and rose again until it disappeared into a thin cloud.
But he always left a sign behind him:
a warm breeze on a cold night,
a feeling of height in a heavy heart
a sudden gleam in a tired gaze.
The message passed down by the elders
It is still taught today that when the wind changes without explanation, when a feather crosses the air without any bird being visible, or when a mist opens like a curtain of light, it is the Mist Eagle that passes.
It serves as a reminder that every mind carries a heaven within it, and that even when vision becomes blurred, there is always a breath capable of restoring clarity.
