Our first real evening in boreal life
Quick Summary
Our first official outing with Vie boréale made us realize that we had made the right decision. Between the Ashuapmushuan River, the Piekuakami, our first dinner in the van, and that feeling of freedom that enveloped us, this evening marked the beginning of an adventure deeply connected to nature, the open road, and Indigenous craftsmanship.
Yesterday, we experienced something simple... but something that will remain etched in our memory for a long time.
Our first official outing with Vie boréale 🌲🚐
For several weeks, we've been working on the van, imagining projects, dreaming of the roads we want to travel, the landscapes we want to discover, and the moments we want to experience outdoors, closer to nature.
But last night, all of that finally became real.

Towards the Ashuapmushuan
At the end of the day, we hit the road without pressure, simply with the desire to breathe a little.
We headed towards the Ashuapmushuan River, surrounded by trees, quiet roads, and the increasing feeling that we were finally slowing down.
There was no complicated plan. No schedule. No urgency.
Just us, the van, and the road.
And honestly, it had been a long time since we had felt something so simple.
- A pressure-free moment: hitting the road simply to enjoy the territory and slow down a bit.
- The beginning of the adventure: realizing that Vie boréale was finally becoming something concrete.

Our first dinner in the van
Later in the evening, we stopped on the shore of Piekuakami, at Lac-Saint-Jean, just in time to watch the sun slowly set over the water.
The kind of moment where everything falls silent for a few minutes.
We prepared our first real dinner in the van, simply sitting and watching the sky change color in front of us.
And it was probably at that moment that we understood something important.
Despite the investments, repairs, hours of work, and all the unforeseen events related to the project... we had made the right decision.

That feeling of freedom
When the sun begins to dip behind the trees and the van falls silent, it's as if everything finally slows down.
No more notifications. No more stress. Just the sound of the wind, the smell of wood, and that strange feeling of being exactly in the right place.
We felt this freedom envelop us.
This impression that this project would become much more than just a vehicle.
Vie boréale is slowly becoming a way of life. A different way to travel, to create, and to reconnect with nature.
- Reconnect with the essentials: taking the time to live more slowly and appreciate simple, small moments.
- Create differently: letting landscapes, forests, and lived experiences inspire our artisanal creations.

The beginning of something
Last night, watching the sun disappear over the Piekuakami, we understood that we had made the right decision.
Even if the project takes time. Even if it requires effort. Even if there is still so much to learn.
Because ultimately, what we are really looking for is not perfection.
It's that feeling of freedom. That connection with the forest. That ability to live authentic moments and share them with the people who follow us.
And honestly... we're already looking forward to the next road 🌲
