The Spirit of Creation – The Wolf Woman
This 14-inch ceremonial drum is handcrafted by Innu artisan and drummer Dave Verreault-Thisselmagan. Each piece is made with care, respecting the materials and traditions passed down within his culture.
The wolf-woman evokes the balance between intuition and inner strength. Her presence invites listening, grounding, and a more conscious connection to one's inner rhythm. Made from Quebec deer hide and mounted on a natural wood frame, this drum is a unique creation, distinguished by a hand-painted design that cannot be exactly replicated.
Its sound is deep and enveloping, designed to accompany personal practice as well as drum circles.

Value and Heritage
Born from a know-how passed down through generations, this drum is designed as a durable instrument. The deer hide evolves over time, gradually enriching the quality of the vibration and creating an increasingly personal bond with its keeper.
It is aimed at those who wish to integrate the drum into a process of presence, well-being or spiritual journey, without artifice.

My signature as an artist – my creative process
Each drum (teueikan) I create is handcrafted using a profound, slow, and respectful artistic process. It's my signature. It's what makes my drums recognizable, consistent, and meaningful.
To make a drum, it's important to come from a lineage of drummers. I come from a family of drummers on the Thisselmagan side, according to my ancestors. This heritage is an integral part of my relationship with the drum and my way of creating it.
I have been making drums for several years. I take my time with each one, because the drum is one of the works that resonates most deeply with my Pekuakamiulnuatsh roots.
For me, making a teueikan is a true act of connecting with my ancestors. Each drum is crafted with respect, attentiveness, and presence.
I take the time to precisely stretch each skin so that, once dry, the drum can offer a vibrant, balanced, and lasting sound. This step is essential in the creation of the sound.
Each drum is hand-assembled to achieve the right tension, capable of accompanying singing, meditation, ceremonies, and personal practices.
A mallet (stick) is also made for each drum. Its creation is inspired by elements of the territory: fur, 100% genuine moose leather and natural materials, in the same spirit as all my works.
Each drum resonates with Mother Earth, and it is this relationship that often guides the final design, colors, and decorative elements.
No two drums are exactly alike. Each piece is unique.
